Thank you for continuing to be patient with us as we navigate these strange and challenging times. We have now reopened our waiting room to clients who want to come in for appointments or pick up food or medication. Our waiting room limit is six people, and masks are still required regardless of vaccination status. Our exam rooms are not yet open for in-person appointments due to their extremely small size and recent reports of the rapid spread of COVID 19 variants.

If you would like to come into the clinic, we will have a veterinary assistant meet you in the waiting room to take a history. You then have the option of hanging out in the waiting room or running an errand during the time of your cat’s exam. If you decide to stay in the waiting room, the doctor can speak with you in person after the exam. If you prefer to run an errand, the doctor will give you a call after the completion of the exam.

Curbside service is still available if you would like to limit contact. If you prefer curbside service, please stay in your car and call or text us when you arrive in the parking area on the day of your visit. We will have a veterinary assistant complete the history over the phone. We will then meet you in front of the clinic to get your pet and its carrier. We ask that you stay nearby and keep your phone readily accessible for curbside appointments. Most appointments are 45 minutes long.

If your cat is here for a drop-off visit, you can return home until the doctor contacts you to discuss their exam findings and projected pick-up time.

For all interactions with our staff, masks are still required regardless of vaccination status.

Cat End-of-Life Care Services

Saying goodbye to a loved one is never easy. We know – each one of us has been there with our own furbabies. Our end-of-life services are designed to help you with those difficult decisions so that you can enjoy your time with your loved one without worrying about what happens next.

Pet End-Of-Life Care

Saying goodbye to your beloved friend will be one of the hardest things you have to do – you do not have to do it alone. We are here for you. Our team is honored to be a part of the bond you share with your friend and we will share your burden and celebrate your memories. We are here to provide your family and beloved pet with love and support during their palliative/hospice care days and then to offer a peaceful transition from this life when the time comes. We’ll handle all of the difficult details so you can focus on ushering your best friend over the Rainbow Bridge with peace and dignity.

Euthanasia
Euthanasia is a selfless act of love that you give your pet – the peace of seeing them quietly slip away in your arms is a final gesture of compassion. Your pain will deepen as you say goodbye to your friend, but their pain will be no more. Comfort, peace, and dignity is a gift we can give our pets after the lifetime of unconditional love they have given us.
Cremation/Burial Services
There are many options available for you to memorialize your four-legged family member after they have passed on. Whether you choose cremation or a burial, the team at Island Cats Veterinary Hospital will be here to go over all of your options with you and help you make the best choice for your family.

Losing a loved one is never easy, regardless of whether that family member happens to be human or animal. At Island Cats Veterinary Hospital, we understand how emotional and painful this time can be and we want you to know that you’re not alone. Let us help you to find a way to say farewell with dignity and peace.
