Island Cats Updated Face Mask Policy

As most of us are aware, mask recommendations are frequently changing and we at Island Cats Veterinary Hospital try to keep up on the most recent advice from the Center for Disease Control.

Effective immediately, we are no longer requiring clients to wear a face mask while in the building. We will continue to provide masks to those clients who still choose to wear a mask indoors. You may still see some of our staff wearing masks for their own protection, as well as in exam rooms since it is a small space.

We still ask that only one client accompanies their pet into the exam rooms unless it is a critical case. If you are feeling ill, have tested positive for Covid, or have been exposed please follow the CDC guidelines for isolation and reschedule your appointment if needed.

The safety and health of our clients and staff is paramount. We will continue to keep everyone advised if there are any further changes.

Thank you!

Sammy seemed like he was in a bad place, and the doctor took care of him. I had become worried about his lethargy and lack of appetite, misunderstood the problem, and yet the doctor quickly figured out the actual issue and handled the delicate issues involved with compassion and grace and good humor. Sammy already seems to be bounding back — sometimes literally with the counters and windowsills, the rascal — often with plentiful, super affectionate meowing and leg rubbing.

The booking was much quicker and more immediate than what I’d found in the surrounding area, the staff was friendly and professional, and I found the price reasonable especially given the outcome. Highly recommend.

Dr. Gary Marashall is amazing with cats, my family has been taking our pets here for years. From everything to anything Dr. Marshall can help treat any of your cats. Especially if they like to get in cat fights.

Last year I took my kitten Salem to Dr. for dietary issues. Dr. Marshall was great on running tests and narrowing it down and helping find the best diet for Salem.

What I love the most is Island cats really cares about your kitties and listens to what your concerns are.

I feel Island cats is some of the best cat care you can find in Seattle and I am so thankful for all their help over the years!

We are new patients, but we’ve had to take our 3 cats here multiple times due to new kitten adjustments. All the staff are super friendly and knowledgeable and take the time to talk to us and answer any questions we have, as well as suggest things to help. We really love the vets, and they seem to genuinely care about their patients and the patients’ owners. 🙂

Island Cats offers the perfect balance of pragmatism and compassion. I especially appreciate how all staff explain the pros and cons of different options to facilitate informed decision-making. And, perhaps most importantly, everyone in the office “gets” cats! I wouldn’t take my kitty anywhere else. Keep up the top-notch work, Island Cats!

When service is this good, you just stick with it. Dr. Gary Marshall has been our go-to vet for nearly 10 years now since our cats were just little guys. Fortunately, they have enjoyed good health. When the day comes for later life and end-of-life care, we will continue to appreciate Dr. Gary’s expertise and kindness. Thanks so much!

The most kind and caring cat vet; took us in as new clients when we’d experienced some trauma (cat missing for 8 days) and each and every person I came in contact with was so kind, professional and caring. Our cat was treated immediately with a very thorough diagnosis and care plan and the Vet followed up with me early the next day. Can’t say enough about how wonderful this office is for both felines and humans!

As always, Dr Marshall and his staff are warm, caring, professional and knowledgeable. I wouldn’t trust my 4 kitties with anyone else. I love Island Cats and Dr Marshall’s team.

I’m glad to take my cat to this vet even though it’s a bit far for me. I feel that this hospital is specialized in cat so my baby can receive a better treatment. I took my cat for regular check. They will only do regular check if your pet is in good shape and the doctor told me that my cat only need check once a year instead of twice a year. I’m relief.

I’ve been bringing my two cats here for years now. As they get older I especially want a doctor who specializes in cats. Dr. Marshall is so calm, makes my cats purr. I never get the feeling he wants to perform procedures they do not need. He’s so helpful and takes the time to talk about options, and detailed care. This was a good reminder to go pick up some food that’s better for my senior chats.
Highly recommend Dr. Marshall. Well worth listening to them meow all the way there. After they’re relaxed and way better going home.
