Island Cats Updated Face Mask Policy

As most of us are aware, mask recommendations are frequently changing and we at Island Cats Veterinary Hospital try to keep up on the most recent advice from the Center for Disease Control.

Effective immediately, we are no longer requiring clients to wear a face mask while in the building. We will continue to provide masks to those clients who still choose to wear a mask indoors. You may still see some of our staff wearing masks for their own protection, as well as in exam rooms since it is a small space.

We still ask that only one client accompanies their pet into the exam rooms unless it is a critical case. If you are feeling ill, have tested positive for Covid, or have been exposed please follow the CDC guidelines for isolation and reschedule your appointment if needed.

The safety and health of our clients and staff is paramount. We will continue to keep everyone advised if there are any further changes.

Thank you!

Cat Surgery in Mercer Island, WA

Our hospital is outfitted with cutting-edge equipment and our knowledgeable team is experienced in the most modern surgical techniques. More importantly, we always adhere to the strictest standards of safety and care.

Safety Is Our Priorty

At Island Cats Veterinary Hospital, we can perform a variety of surgeries your cat could need or find the right specialist to help with the operation.

Our veterinary team takes every precaution so that your pet receives the highest-quality care. We perform a physical exam and pre-anesthetic testing before surgery, monitor your pet during surgery and provide appropriate pain medication to keep your pet comfortable throughout recovery.

Making sure our patients remain safe during surgery and other medical procedures is extremely important to us. We closely monitor every procedure, regardless of whether it is routine or more advanced.

Procedures

Some of the many surgeries routinely performed in our state of the art surgical suite include:

  • Dental Procedures
  • Spay and Neuter
  • Mass Removals
  • Wound Repairs

This is a limited list. Please call us if you have specific surgical questions.

Surgery After Care

Once your pet’s procedure is complete, we will gently move them to the recovery area of our hospital, where we will continue to monitor them as the anesthesia begins to wear off. A member of our staff will contact you to let you know how the surgery went and arrange a time for you to come retrieve your pet. When you arrive, we’ll go over our aftercare instructions, which may include a customized pain management plan to help make the recovery process as comfortable as possible for your pet.

After returning home with your loved one, should any questions or concerns arise about the surgery or recovery process, please do not hesitate to call us. Help is always just a phone call away!
